That is me.... oh I could tell you some horror stories about the last two weeks but I think I will spare myself the torture. Regardless of personal life business is business so work must continue. I do want to give a huge thank you to all of the beyond kind mommas who are being patient with me. So big hugs to you all.

My little 9 yr old girl is sick and now as I am sitting here typing I think she may have spread her yucky little illness to me...ughh..... lol. Hazard of being a mom :) You know what is funny? I selectively vaxed all of my kiddos and my youngest I didn't vax at all. She has never, ever, ever been sick...... just saying........

I have FINALLY revamped my website into something a little more clean and modern. I really like it because it encompasses all of our products better and I have been able to add the yoreganics line of products. I have also added the new ai2s and I am getting ready to add wetbags and wool in ones. So exciting! I cannot wait to get some feedback on the new styles. I will keep you posted.

I will try to get pics up soon!

I am also starting my baby wraps back up. I am coming out with some fun new spring colors though.

I will keep you all updated with some pics and thoughts soon. :)

Okay, I finally have some reviews coming in on the new wipe-able version of the new and improved Kookabum AI2 cloth diaper and they are really good! Here is one...

I got my kookabear AI2's last week sometime. I want to say Friday but I really am not sure. LOL

First impression was sooo cute. I love the prints that I got.
Right out of the package they were "stiff". I hate using that word because it wasnt really stiff to me. I wouldnt have noticed except that it was mentioned before so I was kinda looking for it. I tried it on DS right away and was amazed at how trim it was. It literally reminded me of about the size of a sposie.
They held up great in the first wash and the "stiffness" was pretty much gone. Nothing to worry about there. I put it on DS just to see, I have no patiences to wait for a prepped diaper It actually was pretty good, for only being washed once. I think he lasted about an hour in it before I had to change him. Since I had more dipes delivered I went ahead and washed them a second time the next day. Once again came out of the washer and dryer looking the same with no problems. They honestly held for two hours after the second wash. I have washed them another time since this and they still look great! I change DS every two hours regardless of the dipe.
They dry so quickly as well. I put them in the dryer and they come out as dry as my inserts. I was expecting a lo
nger drying time due to the Grobabies being an AI2 and it taking so long for them to dry. LOL DS is 9 months 19.7 lbs and 27 inches long and he is on the medium setting. With room to grow. They are not too tight around his thighs (chunky thighs, small waist) great. I can get a good fit with both.
With that said and it was long, I love these dipes, and plan on ordering more. DH even inspected the quality and said they were made great and looked really good! If a dipe gets DH excited then I am super happy

There has been a baby or two that they haven't been the greatest fit on but that is just cloth diapering in general. I am over-all thrilled with the way things have turned out.

I am finally within reason of being caught up and can see the light.... it has literally been weeks of up all night sewing and remaking and resending dipes.... I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Kookabum Ai2 cloth diapers have a whole new lease on life....
It has been a long couple of months here. In order to make sure all my customers continued to be happy with Kookabum Diapers I have decided to heed the advice of many cloth diapering mommas out there and use materials that are more common in the diapering industry. This meant alot of remakes, fixes and learning moments. But in the end I think it all worked out very well.
We are now using PUL as the inner layer of our Kookabums so that the inside is wipeable. We made our insert a snap in one and now cover it with a minky fleece for superior softness.

We are top-stitching all of the dipes and encasing the elastic as well as using a much better snap layout and squaring off the wings for a cleaner look.

The overall design is great and I love it so I guess all in all everything happens for a purpose and sometimes when things fail it is only to make way for something better. It has definitely been a learning experience and there were moments that I really wanted to quit but I am holding on. I have gotten ahead, gotten behind, made people happy, made people mad..... but sometimes life is like that.

All of that said, This week is a new beginning for Kookabums. We shipped our first batch of our final design and are waiting anxiously for feedback to start rolling in :) It has been a long road but I am so glad that I continued on it. I hope all of our customers will be too!

Okay, so I am completely overhauling my website myself. It is a total work in progress and trust me my expertise is sewing not webdesign.

That being said.... can all of my faithful helpers please check it out and let me know what you think?

Does it grab your attention?

Is it easy to figure out what I sell immediately?

Is it easy to navigate?

Does it make you want to buy anything?

What can I change to make it better?

Trust me you will not hurt my feelings.

ThankS!!!!!

It has been way to long since I have posted but I have been slammed with orders and now I am taking local orders as well. I finally had to hire someone to help put snaps on, ship and label things.

Anyway! All is well.... how are all of my fellow cloth diaper-ers doing? I hope you are all well...

Here is the deal.... I know I don't have time for giveaways and blog reviews and stuff.... but.... I do have a new idea for a really cool trainer pant that I am going to be testing very soon. No promise on the date since I am so busy but I really want to try it out so if you are willing to be a patient tester email me.

I am also wanting to try my hand at making wet bags to match the dipes and flannel or minky backed wipes.... I am new to the two things so if anyone has any suggestions or hints that is great please let me know! I need all the info I can get....

I will be blogging about how you can earn free kookabums and wraps in my next blog so stay posted.

I am dreaming of sleep. Lol, one of the hazards of having your own business and being a full-time mommy. It is very rewarding though. I am so excited! I have been doing an incredible amount of business. I am getting ready to make Kookabear Kids an LLC. That is a big step for me.

My snap press broke but I have it all fixed and I am ready to go now. Of course, my snap company delayed my shipment of snaps so I won't be able to go into full speed production again until Friday...

Speaking of production....

If you have been wanting to do a review or giveaway with me please send me your information once more. I have been terribly neglectful of all of you and I am terribly sorry I keep putting you off. My orders have been coming in so fast every time I think I can get that extra diaper or two out to you I have to put it in an order.

I actually have a couple extra dipes in my new design so I am really anxious to get them out to you. I am really glad that I get to send you my revised dipe instead of the other. I LOVE IT. In fact, it is so unique that I am in the process of trying to get certain parts of it patented. :)

Enough business stuff..... how boring! I promise my next post will be so much more fun.

Now.... of to ZZZZZ.....zzzzz.....zzzzz

More Diapers!!!

I am swamped with order but I guess that is great right? I am still trying to get caught up from the holidays. Get some orders out for reviews. Make some new diapers to take pics of and list... if I use these for the reviews I can kill two birds with one stone...hmmm... Update my website, update etsy, facebook, blog, tweet, make more diapers....lol I love it though! I just changed the make of my diapers. I love it and the changes make a huge improvement. I am constantly changing my design to perfect it. I don't know what I will do for sure after Liberty is potty trained. She is 18 months so that isn't too far off. How will I test all my new tweeks and ideas? :)

Did I mention in the meantime my son's 7th birthday is this Sunday... Here we come Chucky E. Cheese. They do everything for you for 50 bucks plus 10 bucks for a cake. You get a truck load of stuff too. If you need a quick, easy, pretty cheap birthday go here. Just check out the place first because some are nicer than others. I am excited. I actually love going to there and playing all of the games.
It is also exciting because we are picking up Caleb to spend the weekend with us.

Well that is all I have time for now. I have to go sew. Have a happy day!

Okay, I would love to start doing give aways and sending out test diapers to all of you wonderful mommies who read my blog.

How do I do this? I am so clueless...... HELP!!!!!

Here is my idea.... if you know a pretty fair amount of info on how to drive some traffic to your blog and do free giveaways, etc..... I would love to work with you and maybe even send you some free product......

Also, am in desperate need of new product testers. My little one to the right is almost out of diapers so I won't be able to use her for a guinea pig forever. I have recently switched from pul to a brand new material for the lining of my diapers that has it's own built in, super thin, waterproof layer and is super absorbent all on it's own to prevent against leaks like no other when used with our soakers! I am also switching fro microfiber inserts to ZORB. I need to test these on different sized babies, wash and dry many times, etc....

I am always up for ideas!
Thanks!

Today is a snow day. You know, one of those days when your kids wake up at the crack of dawn even though you have to drag them out of bed any other school day. They rush to the windows in hopes that enough snow has fallen to prompt the call (dreaded by me of course) that school is canceled for the day.

The kids are rushing around as I type looking for their snow suits, boots, and gloves so they can go play outside. Their sleds are buried somewhere under the white puffy mounds of fun outside that await them.

Once the roads clear maybe we will drive to the park where there are some bigger hills and they can have some real fun. :)

I am actually enjoying my time with them today. Watching them bounce happily in their oversized clothes. They won't be little for long.

I hope that my customers who are waiting patiently on their diaper orders will understand. There is no way I can miss these beautiful moments and hide away down in my work studio sewing. I can't make it through the snow into town and to the Post Office anyhow.

It really is beautiful out.

What a wonderful, lazy, snow daze :)

Okay, so I promised you that I would write up this tutorial on how to make your own sew -in fabric labels.

It is super duper easy!

What you need:
The first thing you are going to do is buy some iron on ink jet (or laser) printable sheets. I get mine from the fabric section of Wal-mart and they are a brand called Tailor.
Then you are going to buy some twill fabric tape. They sell this by the yard at Wal-mart as well. It is about and inch wide and very cheap.

Other than your printer and an iron you have everything you need.

Step 1. go to www.avery.com and choose print and design online. Then choose create by product and enter 48860. This will give you the template for a 1"x2 5/8" address label.

Now all you have to do is create your label design in the first square. You can import any logo or picture you like and use any font or colors you like so be creative.

Step 2. Print your iron on sheets. The tailor brand sheets often tell you NOT to reverse your image for printing so make sure you just print normal if the directions state this. Some other brands of iron on transfers require you to reverse the image. Just read the instructions on the package to figure out which you should do. If you do need to reverse the image then you can do this in the options settings of your printer. Make sure to follow the instructions to make your labels colorfast. With the Tailor brand you have to rinse them in cool water and iron dry with a hot iron.

Step 3. Cut your iron labels into strips.

Step 4. Turn you iron on to high/cotton with NO steam and press your strips right onto the twill tape. I allow mine to cool and then peel them but read the instructions on your transfer sheets to find out what they recommend.

Step 5. Now you can cut and sew on each label.

I was and dry mine constantly in the dryer since I use them on my diapers and they still look awesome! I think these look super professional and they are super cheap!

Please message me to let me know how these work out for you and let me know if you need help!

Enjoy!
